Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ChurnShield's platform, including all email communications sent through our service. By using ChurnShield, you agree to comply with this policy.
Key point: ChurnShield sends emails to your customers on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring those communications are lawful, and we enforce strict anti-abuse rules to protect deliverability for all users.
1. Email Usage
ChurnShield sends dunning emails, smart save offers, and win-back campaigns to your customers on your behalf. All emails sent through our platform must:
- Be related to legitimate failed payment recovery, cancellation prevention, or win-back outreach for existing customers
- Only target customers who have an existing business relationship with you (i.e., current or former subscribers)
- Comply with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and all applicable email regulations
- Include accurate sender information and your business identity
- Not contain misleading subject lines or deceptive content
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use ChurnShield to:
- Send spam or unsolicited emails — Our service is exclusively for communicating with your existing customers about payment-related matters
- Harass or threaten — Recovery emails must be professional and respectful. Threatening language, false urgency, or deceptive tactics are prohibited
- Misrepresent your identity — You must accurately identify your business in all communications
- Violate laws or regulations — Including but not limited to consumer protection, data privacy, and anti-spam laws
- Process fraudulent transactions — You may not use our retry system to process payments you know to be fraudulent or unauthorized
- Reverse-engineer or abuse the platform — Including attempting to circumvent rate limits, access other users' data, or exploit vulnerabilities
- Resell or redistribute — ChurnShield accounts are for your business use only and may not be resold or shared with third parties
3. Content Standards
All content sent through ChurnShield, including custom email templates and AI-generated messages, must not contain:
- False or misleading claims about consequences of non-payment
- Threats of legal action, credit reporting, or debt collection (we are not a debt collector)
- Offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language
- Malware, phishing links, or malicious content
- Content that violates any third party's intellectual property rights
4. Stripe Compliance
Your use of ChurnShield must comply with Stripe's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Since we interact with your Stripe account to process retries and access payment data, any violation of Stripe's policies may result in suspension of your ChurnShield account.
5. Rate Limits and Fair Use
To maintain high deliverability and protect all users, we enforce fair use limits:
- Email volume is governed by your subscription plan
- Payment retries follow our smart scheduling algorithm and cannot be manually overridden to excessive frequencies
- API access (where applicable) is subject to rate limits as documented in our API Reference
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
We monitor platform usage to ensure compliance with this policy. If we detect a violation, we may:
- Issue a warning and request corrective action
- Temporarily suspend email sending or payment retries
- Suspend or terminate your account for serious or repeated violations
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent harm to our platform or other users.
7. Reporting Abuse
If you receive an email sent through ChurnShield that you believe violates this policy, or if you become aware of any abuse of our platform, please report it to:

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the platform. Continued use of ChurnShield after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
